The Scouting experience continues its evolution with the launch of the Environmental Science Merit Badge Digital Resource Guide. Expanding upon the traditional pamphlet, the guide gives Scouts a more interactive and accessible way to explore the badge and work through its requirements.
According to the digital resource guide, the Environmental Science merit badge “promotes character development by offering Scouts the opportunity to experience hands-on learning with the environment around them.” Scouts, alongside their leaders and units, further examine the relationship between humans and the environment and the impact humans have on it.
Scouts can see what it’s like to be an environmental scientist as they conduct experiments to investigate the natural world.
New features within the Environmental Science digital resource guide include:
- Special awards connected to the Environmental Science merit badge
- Interactive graphics and guides to aid the Scouting experience
- Subjects ranging from ecology and pollination to endangered species and environmental impact studies
- Templates and additional resources to assist with completing badge requirements
- More videos, helpful links and learning tools that support various learning styles
This digital resource guide offers Scouts and leaders a richer way to experience how we connect to the world and how we can properly preserve it.
